BUCKINGHAM, PA — Nine hundred people showed up on Saturday to get a taste of Buckingham's newest addition - Humdoo Ice Cream - at the former site of the Candlewyck on Durham Road between Routes 202 and 263.
"I genuinely don't know how to put yesterday into words. I've dreamed about opening a second Humdoo for so long, but nothing could have prepared me for what it would actually feel like to stand there and watch hundreds and hundreds of people walk through those doors," posted shop owner Gabriella Truppi on Facebook. "Yesterday was one of the best days of my life."
The Doylestown Borough resident, who opened her first shop five years ago in Flemington, said there had been so many moments over the last few months where getting there felt impossible.
"So many long days, late nights, things going wrong, plans changing, stress, tears, and moments where I wondered how the hell we were going to pull this off," she wrote. "And then yesterday, 900 people showed up to celebrate with us.
"Nine hundred people came to eat ice cream, stuff their tumblers, meet our new team, see this space we've poured everything into, and officially welcome Humdoo to Bucks County," she wrote.
"I kept looking around all day trying to actually take it in. This isn't an idea anymore. It isn't a plan or a construction project or something I keep saying is coming soon. Our second store is open."
Truppi started the business at 20 years old with a pink ice cream truck. Then came her little shop in Flemington. "And now, somehow, we crossed the river and opened store number two. I don't think I'll ever forget what yesterday felt like."
Truppi added, "To every single person who stood in line, brought your family, told a friend, shared a post, bought a shirt, stuffed a tumbler, congratulated me, hugged me, or simply walked through our doors: thank you. You gave me a day I will remember for the rest of my life.
"Bucks County, you showed UP. 900 freaking people. Store number two. Best day of my life. We're just getting started," she posted.

Stuff Your Tumbler is officially coming to Buckingham on Thursday, August 20 from 12 to 10 p.m.
Bring your own 16 to 40 ounce tumbler and for $17 Humdoo will stuff it with up to 2.5 pounds of ice cream and up to four of your favorite flavors.
"Our first official Stuff Your Tumbler in Bucks County! Come hungry. We won't stuff again until next month," the store posted.
