Independent Rebecca Prendergast Announces Campaign In 145th House District

QUAKERTOWN, PA — Rebecca Prendergast has announced her Independent campaign for Pennsylvania's 145th House District, offering voters an alternative to parties and career politicians which she says are failing Bucks County families.

"For too long, parties have focused on scoring political points instead of serving voters," Prendergast said. "Craig Staats has had more than a decade to deliver results, and families feel ignored, left behind, and unheard. We deserve better."

Prendergast is entering the crowded race as neither a party insider nor a career politician, but a mom and community member who understands the pressures.

"Families do not live according to party labels. Bucks County families and seniors are tired of the infighting and need real solutions that lower costs, from groceries and gas to utilities and housing. My campaign will fight for fair, responsible tax policies that make Upper Bucks more affordable for every generation and ensure seniors on fixed incomes can remain in the homes and communities they helped build."

Prendergast also supports a full stop on data-center development until protections are established for residents, workers, natural resources, the electrical grid, and taxpayers. Communities deserve transparency and should not be forced to absorb noise, traffic, energy demands, water use, environmental consequences, or infrastructure costs.

"Upper Bucks should not become a testing ground for unchecked data-center development. These projects raise utility costs, threaten our drinking water, and harm working farms across Bucks County. My campaign will demand responsible development and accountability that puts our communities ahead of corporate interests."

She added, "This campaign is about putting people ahead of parties. Upper Bucks is demanding a fresh, independent voice willing to listen, work hard, and ensure our community is heard."

The 145th legislative district includes Quakertown, Richlandtown, Riegelsville, Trumbauersville, and the Bucks County portion of Telford Borough, and Bridgeton, Durham, East Rockhill, Haycock, Milford, Nockamixon, Richland, Springfield, and West Rockhill townships. The district is currently represented by Republican Craig Staats.
