DOYLESTOWN, PA — Readers and community members are invited to attend a special event highlighting the book, "Philadelphia: A Walk Through History," on Saturday, August 29 at the Doylestown Bookshop.
The event will feature local Philly author Natalie Pompilio, who will discuss the book and engage with attendees during a book signing.
"Philadelphia: A Walk Through History's" guided walks introduce readers to the people who helped shape the nation and the places where they lived, worked, and made history.
There are familiar names — it's impossible to tell America's origin story without mentioning Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson — but not all the stories about them are well-known.
Readers also meet lesser-known individuals, including women and enslaved Africans, who risked their lives and liberty because they believed in government for the people, by the people.
The event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. and is open to the public. Attendees will have an opportunity to purchase signed copies of the book and meet Natalie.
The event is hosted by the Doylestown Bookshop (16 South Main Street) in Doylestown.
