Today's riddle: What did the wall say to the other wall. 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Shiver Me Timbers: Puppy Pirates Raise Hundreds For Bucks Co. Housing Group (patch.com) — Doylestown pet owners and their dogs helped raise $1,550 and nearly 70 pounds of people and pet food during Holiday House Pet Resort's pirate-themed Pup-A-Palooza, supporting Bucks County Housing Group and the Doylestown Food Pantry. Organizers highlight how including pet food helps local families in financial hardship keep and care for their animals while meeting basic needs.
2. Doylestown seeks residents' input on community composting (bucksindependence.com) — Doylestown Borough is launching a community composting survey to learn how residents currently handle food scraps and what might encourage more people to participate. You'll see it via D-Mail and social media, with questions about home or commercial composting, costs, barriers, and interest in education or private collection, helping guide next steps under the borough's new climate action plan.
3. NorthStar Vets proposes emergency animal hospital at former Doylestown AAA property (centralbucksnews.com) — A long-vacant former AAA site on Easton Road in Doylestown Township could become a 24-hour veterinary emergency and specialty hospital, with supervisors backing needed zoning variances. The proposal includes demolishing the mold-damaged building, adding shared access with the Giant center, improving sidewalks and drainage, and addressing concerns about impervious coverage and parking in upcoming hearings.
4. Doylestown moves to ban right turns on red at Broad and Doyle streets (bucksindependence.com) — Drivers using the intersection of North Broad and Doyle streets in Doylestown Borough may soon be barred from making right turns on red in any direction. Borough Council has voted to advertise an ordinance, after PennDOT approval, to ease conflicts between turning trucks and right-on-red drivers, with a final adoption vote still required before the change takes effect.
5. Nonprofit Serving Bucks County Cancer Patients Reaches 10,000 Services Milestone (tapinto.net) — Based in Doylestown, Kin Wellness and Support Center has now delivered more than 10,000 free services to cancer patients, caregivers, and oncology workers across Bucks County. Partnering with Penn Medicine–Doylestown Health and dozens of volunteer practitioners, the nonprofit offers everything from massage and acupuncture to support groups and meditation, helping locals feel cared for beyond their medical treatments.
