DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Nineteen-year-old Pennsylvania native and former America's Got Talent contestant, Dylan Zangwill, will bring an acoustic and electric set to the stage for the next Concert at the Commons.
The September series of free live performances continues on Thursday at Broad Commons Park across from the Doylestown Borough Hall. The grounds open at 6 with the music starting at 6:30 p.m. There is no admission fee.
Zangwill is not your typical teenager. In 2021, he appeared on Season 16 of "America's Got Talent." and impressed the judges with his version of Queen's, "Somebody To Love," which moved him on to play one of his favorites, "House of the Rising Sun" on a Hammond B3 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
Following his success on AGT, Dylan quickly established a larger following and began playing more events and venues. In 2022, he traveled to Nashville where he worked with Grammy Award-Winning producer John Carter Cash at the legendary Cash Cabin, recording four of Dylan's original songs. Late in 2022, he appeared on American Idol Season 21 where he amazed the judges with an original composition, "Bittersweet Melody" and received his Golden Ticket to Hollywood.
His latest single, "World On Fire," was released in June and has earned regular airplay and backing from the influential public radio station 88.5 WXPN in Philadelphia.
Zangwill will be joined at Thursday's concert by special guest Johnny Zarfati, a New Jersey-based Americana artist who draws on the grit of the Northeast and the soul of American roots music to craft a sound that feels both "lived in" and fresh. Blending folk, Americana, and alt country, his music searches for something real.
Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs or blankets to the pet-friendly, free concert event. Hops/Scotch will be providing beverages, with a variety of food and dessert trucks each night. Free parking will be available in the nearby Bucks County Parking Garage.
Folk rockers Driftwood, with special guest openers Kaitlynn Casper & the Night Bloom, take the stage on the final night on September 24. The TileWorks Bluegrass series co-presents the performance ahead of their final bluegrass show of the season on Sunday, September 27.
Concerts at the Commons are being produced by Bucks County-based live music nonprofit, Stage United, in collaboration with Doylestown Borough.
