DOYLESTOWN, PA — Doylestown-area residents will have a chance to meet local first responders and learn about fire safety at the Central Bucks Fire Prevention Expo on Saturday, Oct. 10. The free event is scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. at Central Park, 425 Wells Road, Doylestown.
The expo will include fire and emergency apparatus, demonstrations, EMS, family activities, fire prevention education and an opportunity to meet local first responders. Organizers said the event is designed as a community-focused afternoon centered on public safety and access to the people and equipment residents may not usually see up close.
"The expo will bring together emergency responders and public safety organizations from throughout our area for one afternoon dedicated to our community," said expo organizers. "You'll have the opportunity to meet firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, police officers, emergency management personnel, and other public safety professionals while getting an up-close look at the equipment they use."
According to organizers, the free gathering will feature a mix of education and hands-on appeal for families.
"Bring the whole family," said organizers. "Fire prevention doesn't have to be boring. Some of our favorite moments from last year's expo were watching our youngest visitors climb up for a closer look at the trucks, meet firefighters and EMTs, explore emergency equipment, and have fun."
The event's format brings several branches of public safety together in one place, including fire, EMS, police and emergency management personnel. For residents, that means a chance to ask questions, see emergency vehicles and equipment, and take part in fire prevention education during a single afternoon in Doylestown.
The Central Bucks Fire Prevention Expo is set for Saturday, Oct. 10, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Central Park in Doylestown Township. Admission is free.
