WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A Doylestown man was cited for public drunkenness after creating a disturbance inside the Warrington grocery store.
Police were called to the Wegmans earlier this month for a report of a disturbance.
A customer told officers he was shopping while talking on his phone when an unknown man approached him, got in his face, and began yelling. The man then held his fist near the victim's face and threatened to kill him, the customer told police.
Officers located the 27-year-old Doylestown man loading groceries into his vehicle. When confronted by police, he denied getting into a verbal argument and said he was confused about why police were there. However, police said he acknowledged yelling at someone because he believed the person was laughing at him.
Police said officers detected an odor of alcoholic beverages on the man and administered a portable breath test which registered a high level of blood alcohol concentration.
Police contacted a family member to pick him up. He was cited with public drunkenness.
