DOYLESTOWN, PA — This weekend is all about the pumpkin as BC Cares brings its hugely popular Pumpkinfest back to Doylestown.

In what promises to be a memorable weekend, the two-day event begins on Saturday from 12 to 8 p.m. and continues on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works off of Swamp Road.

Saturday will feature pumpkin carving, celebrity judging, live performances by CB West musicians, the Young Performers Cooperative and the Pennsylvania School of Performing Arts, food trucks, and lots more.

From 12 to 6 p.m., visitors can watch as professional carvers turn pumpkins into works of art. The carvers are given six hours to transform incredibly large pumpkins into works of art, which are then judged by a panel of celebrity judges who walk through the display and decide who the grand prize winner will be.

There's also a chance for the public to weigh in on their favorites by casting votes for the People's Choice winners.

The fun continues on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a youth carving contest beginning at 4 p.m., spooky karaoke, live music by Lolly Hopwood, and a costume contest and youth awards. Youngsters are encouraged to come dressed in costume.

Visitors are encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food to Pumpkinfest to help restock the shelves at the New Britain Food Pantry.

"Come on out and enjoy the beautiful weather and experience all the joy of Pumpkinfest," said organizers.

Admission is $15 (general admission), $10 (ages 6 to 12), and free for kids ages four and under. Passes are good for each day.

Proceeds from the event benefit BC Cares Educational Foundation, a nonprofit that empowers youth to thrive through developmental programs and initiatives that promote educational success and community involvement.
