Bucks Co. Attorney Charged With Stealing More Than $156K From Clients

He said the thefts occurred during a period marked by medical and substance abuse issues, as well as an online gambling addiction.

Suspended Newtown attorney Andrew C. Neville. (Bucks County District Attorney's Office)

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Andrew C. Neville, a now-suspended Bucks County attorney, has been charged with stealing more than $156,000 from two clients, including an elderly man and a deceased individual's estate, District Attorney Joe Khan has announced.

Neville, 40, of Pennsauken, N.J., owner of Neville Law PLLC on South State Street in Newtown Borough, turned himself in on Friday on felony charges filed by the Newtown Borough Police Department and Bucks County Detectives.

Neville is charged with financial exploitation of an older adult or care-dependent person, identity theft, theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, forgery, and receiving stolen property.

He was arraigned Friday before Magisterial District Judge John T. Galloway, who set bail at $250,000. Neville was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.

Law enforcement launched an investigation on Oct. 2, 2025, after a resident reported suspected theft from her late mother's estate. Neville had been hired in October 2024 to provide legal services for the estate. At the time of the retainer, the victim's daughter and executrix was 67 years old.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, after consolidating the estate's funds into an account at the First National Bank & Trust Company of Newtown, Neville made 46 unauthorized withdrawals and transfers between January and May 2025, stealing $113,150. He used some of the money to pay rent for both his law firm and residence.

Investigators uncovered a second victim, a 76-year-old man, who had signed a General Durable Power of Attorney naming Neville as his agent in March 2024. Neville added himself to the victim's Santander Bank account and carried out 26 unauthorized transactions totaling $43,631.78 between July 2024 and May 2025. By June 2025, the victim's account had been drained to a balance of $26.21.

On June 23, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania transferred Neville's law license to an inactive status. On Sept. 25, Neville turned himself in for an interview at the Newtown Borough Police Department, where he admitted to stealing the funds from both clients. Neville told authorities that the thefts occurred during a period marked by medical and substance abuse issues, as well as an online gambling addiction where a large portion of the stolen money was transferred, according to the criminal complaint.

To date, none of the $156,781.78 in stolen funds have been returned to the victims or their beneficiaries.

"Clients put their faith, assets, and future in the hands of their attorneys during some of the most difficult times in their lives," said District Attorney Joe Khan. "This defendant betrayed the trust placed in him as a legal professional, targeting vulnerable older adults and draining the funds intended for their care and families. As this case moves forward, we remain committed to fighting financial exploitation and seeking justice for every victim."

The case was investigated by Newtown Borough Police Officer Tiffany Winik and Bucks County Detective Eric Landamia and is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Carrie Worton.
