DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — A 24-year-old Levittown man is facing serious charges after he attacked a Central Bucks Regional police officer, pinned him to the ground, and wouldn't let him go.
The incident happened following an altercation between two woman on Halloween on West State Street in Doylestown Borough.
After police took the women into custody, they said Joshua Alexander Leedie, who was not involved in the initial altercation, rushed one of the officers, knocking him to the ground and then pinning him.
Police said Leedie, who had his arm around the officer's neck refusing to let go, ignored officer commands to let go and continued to maintain a firm grip on the officer's gear and uniform.
After officers were able to handcuff Leedie and move him to a police car, police said he continued to resist, repeatedly kicking the door of the car.
Leedie was arraigned, bail was set at 10 percent of $75,000, and he was remanded to Bucks County Prison.
He has been charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony; simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct/engaged in fighting, and public drunkenness.
