FALLing into Nutrition and Wellness | Blog by Chelsea Dolge

Hello! I would like to introduce myself to the Y community. My name is Chelsea Dolge and I am currently interning here at Central Bucks Family YMCA. I am a graduate student at West Chester University pursuing a master’s degree in Public Health and will be graduating this December. I graduated from West Chester University with my B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics last May. I was born and raised in the Doylestown area and attended the local schools Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Archbishop Wood High School. Growing up here, I was always active in DAA sports programs and eventually became a junior field hockey coach for DAA. I continued with my passion for field hockey and played for Archbishop Wood and the U.S.A Futures Travel Team. Today, I enjoy staying physically active, learning about nutrition and cooking healthy meals.

This fall I will be assisting Lisa Walsh, CPT & Sports Nutritionist, with a 10-week program called Falling Into Nutrition and Wellness. It will begin the week of Sept 9 with an orientation session followed by 10 workshops each week until mid November. It is going to be a fun learning experience for anyone who is interested in joining. We will be discussing topics such as Party Planning & Healthy Menu Selection, How to Understand the Nutritional Label, Restaurant Menu Selection & how to choose the best option, Bulk Cooking, Protein Shake and Smoothie Demonstrations, and much much more. So come join us this fall to learn quick tips on fitness and wellness and have the power to succeed! I look forward to meeting you all then!

Register for the program and then join our private Facebook group where I will be posting weekly blogs and quiz questions.
