What should you know about hiring an errand service/concierge company?
Over the past three years I have had hundreds of conversations with people near and far about the idea of hiring help to maximize time.
I often have the same conversation over and over again, so I decided to create a post based on the key elements to consider when hiring a concierge or lifestyle management service.
This is a pretty simple list you can use whenever you are considering hiring someone to support you, your family and your business…

Look, the fact is… anyone can go grocery shopping, but not everyone will do it with the same diligence, thought and care you do… So it’s important to have these discussions right up front. What are the core values and mission of the company you are considering hiring?
For example, at Task Complete, we uphold a mission of giving families and busy professionals reliable and compassionate assistance so they can meet the demands of everyday life. We want to not only support you, but become “part of the family”! This allows us to truly integrate in your life and be there when you need us the most… And by doing so, we quickly become adept at understanding all your unique requests and needs.

Our entire team truly values the relationships we have built with each of our clients.
Insurance:This is something that honestly irks me… The way I see it, having an insurance policy not only covers my business, but also covers my clients’ assets and belongings as well, just providing an additional layer of security and peace of mind.
Those that aren’t insured in my opinion don’t view their business as an actual “business” and more like a side gig.
Be sure to pose this question with all contractors/subcontractors you have in your home or business.
This is just one difference between hiring a reputable professional company and hiring someone for 10 bucks an hour on Craig’s list.
Experience:When you consider hiring a professional to do any type of work for you, it is prudent to discuss experience as part of the interview process.
Is this work something they’ve done before? If so, ask for references.
And if it’s something that they haven’t done before, discuss the expectations and time line.
For example, when I started this business, I had never done grocery shopping for someone else before… (other than family) So I did several Pro Bono shopping trips so I could familiarize myself with the process, therefore providing a streamlined and cost effective option for my clients.

Team of Supportive Professionals:Another question to consider is whether or not your errand service provider has back up or not?
To be quite honest, when I first started out, it was just me, and I had to do everything in my power to care for the needs of all my clients. Sometimes this required me working late hours myself… and when I had a child home from school sick, it was up to me to find alternative plans so that I could still complete the “task” at hand. (there would be NO letting down my clients)
Today however, I am glad to say we are a group of 4 consistent team members and we also have 2 other helpers who come in when necessary to fulfill the needs of our clients, their families and businesses.
When hiring, have this conversation in the beginning, so you always know what to expect and what the back-up plan is.
I hope this list helps you when you have made the decision to get the support you deserve…

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, a Concierge Company may be just what you need! What can you give the guy or gal who has “everything”? This year give them the gift of uninterrupted relaxation…
Provide your honey/sweetie/babe or even “snookums” with a wonderful relaxing in home massage by my friend and personal massage therapist Tina R. Richards of Richards Massage & Wellness. (Trust me; it doesn’t get any better than that).
Allow the massage to turn into an entire experience… think fluffy robe, hot cup of tea, good book, no need to leave the house… (Wink wink)
And while they’re relaxing, allow Task Complete to run out and do the errands, have flowers delivered, or pick up a pre-cooked meal (we’ll even come set the table for you!)
From now through February 14, you can book your combo package for a flat fee of $215. (price of meal/flowers additional) … Want to look good this year? You know what to do! 267-334-6927
