When a mountaineer climbs Everest, he or she doesn’t do it alone. It takes a whole support team to sustain the climb.
Recovery is a lot like climbing a mountain or, as some have put it, like climbing up a “down” escalator. Putting down the drink or drug is the easy part. Maintaining long-term recovery takes ongoing effort and support. That’s what PRO-ACT’s Expanding Your Recovery Toolkit workshops are all about.
The next Expanding Your Recovery Toolkit workshop will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the offices of The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania, Inc., 252 West Swamp Rd., Unit 12, in Doylestown. Jennifer will talk about “Rebuilding My Life”, and Sue will tell her story, “I Got Sober, but My Son Didn’t.” Jerry, one of the organizers of the program, will lead a group discussion on “A Day in My Life.”
