A Pennsylvania judge Mark Ciavarella was sentenced to 28 years in prison for getting money from juvenile detention centers. He would send these children to the longest sentences. This man took bribes that totaled millions of dollars.
What makes me sick is that I work for an agency that took in many teen that came from boot camps and went to them. I still remember one boy. He saw the caseworker in his uniform and crie. He looked at me and said "they are going to hurt me". This was one of my toughest kids. When he said this I begged the PO to let him come back to me. The PO agreed. I remember speaking to P.Os and asking why did he do sucks a long time. The P.Os never understood. But at the end many POs did not report there teens. Now I understand. They must have felt in there hearts that something was wrong and the only way to protect the kids was to just not report them. Yes I know this is a few months old but I just learned about this and not to many people know about this case.
