Top 3 Things You Should Organize This Year

By creating clear more organized spaces in key areas of your life, we have the potential to do more of the things we love to do in a calmer more stress free environment. Here are 3 key areas you can incorporate in your life now that can help!

This is the time of year many people decide to make resolutions and one of them is often to get “organized”. But what does that really mean? The funny thing is it means different things to different people…

What I have found is that by creating clear more organized spaces in key areas of your life, we have the potential to do more of the things we love to do in a calmer more stress free environment.

The 3 key areas you can incorporate in your life are clearing and organizing your mind, space and time.

Mind:

We all have so many things for which we are responsible for. From family commitments to business strategies and personal goals … I don’t know about you, but when my head is “full”, I can’t take anything else in.

So what is a perpetual thinker to do? Write it all down and get it all out!

I like breaking my thoughts down into succinct categories for lack of a better word.  When it’s time to “do” or focus on things, by having things broken down, we can put into action faster!

Business growth ideas can be recorded on 1 list. Such things as marketing ideas, new programs, improved offerings.

I use an idea journal to jot every little silly thing that pops in my head. You never know who you may be able to help with that “silly” little idea.

Personal goals and ideas in another like “I want to run a 5K this year” (true story). Plan trip to Disney in November (done!)

Daily Tasks can also be captured in another “list”. I also encourage you to compress errand type activities into one “errand run” for more efficiency on you and your vehicle!

Space:

If you’re anything like me, I can NOT function in a cluttered space. It is utterly distracting having my space occupied by mess and non-essential “things”.  Look, my house isn’t in “perfect” order at all times, but to improve my mood, living, and work conditions I need lots of clear open space around me devoid of clutter.

My self-imposed problem is sometimes I’ll avoid doing essential things because the blanket hasn’t been folded or there are a few dishes in the sink (insert Procrastination excuse #1! We’ll talk about that in a later post)

Time:

Time is a delicate creature, but guess what, no matter how you slice it, dice it or chunk it, it’s always constant! We are given 24 glorious hours each and every day. It’s what you choose to do with those hours that add to your ability to be successful and accomplish more.

I have had to personally learn to master this technique more and more each and every year as my business grows so that I still have the time I desire for living life and enjoying time with friends and family.

Learn good effective time management strategies. Take a course. Read a blog (shameless plug). Or perhaps consider hiring a time management expert to help you create more efficient schedules in your own life or business.

If this is something you could use in your life, I encourage you to consider having a one on one quick start session with me to help you uncover your own secret potential by strategizing!
