Wrightstown Farmers Market In Newtown This Saturday: What You Need To Know

Newtown’s Wrightstown Farmers Market is set for this Saturday, August 22, with 30 vendors, entertainment, and food education programs.

This week’s market will include several other attractions, including a special guest appearance by Christina Pirello at 11 a.m. Pirello will give a presentation on GMOs and the local food movement. She will also be cooking up a delicious dish made with fresh market ingredients to share while supplies last.

In the music tent, George Thompson will be playing throughout the day.

The Greek Street Food Truck and Nina’s Waffle Truck will be on hand, offering bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, greek salad, gyros and souvlaki for lunch, and waffles and ice cream for dessert.

Per the official Wrightstown website, vendors this week will offer:

• Seasonal, freshly harvested, organically grown vegetables
• Herbs, flowers; preserved products
• 100% grass-fed beef, pasture-raised poultry, lamb and pork
• Pastured, free-range eggs
• Organic yogurt and cheeses
• Artisanal breads and homemade baked goods
• Handmade soaps and lotions; raw local honey and beeswax candles

• Organic, fair trade, locally roasted coffees

“Come early and stay late,” is the market’s motto. The market will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 2203 2nd Street Pike, next to the Wrightstown Township municipal offices.
