4 Things To Look Out For This Week
Basketball, New Years, and a new Patch just next door

As I write this, the wind is howling and snow is blowing as Easton is hit with what feels like the 56,000th storm of 2010. Let's hope 2011 brings us somewhat balmier weather.
As for the rest of this year, here's what it's final week will bring:
- Some basketball coverage. We'll be at the annual Rotary Club Annual Basketball Tournament, which finds teams from two of our Patches facing off. Easton, Wilson, Notre Dame and Phillipsburg are all on the mix at the tournament, which happens Monday and Tuesday at Lafayette, although the weather could alter that schedule.
- And on that note, I should mention that Wednesday marks the launch of our Patch for Palmer and Forks townships. Local editor Takesha Thomas has been hard at work getting ready for the site to go live. (A process that I can tell you is no picnic, unless we're talking about some sort of Texas Chainsaw Picnic.) But you'll probably be seeing some of her stories on my site, and vice-versa, especially when it comes to Easton Area School District stories.
- On a more pleasant note, the hosts its New Year's Eve dance Friday at 8 p.m. at the Third Street Alliance building.
- Another New Year's Eve event: Crayola holds its Crayon Drop at 8 p.m., as part of its 15 event.
Have a safe week -- especially if you're driving this morning.
