“Even virtues become vulnerabilities when taken to an extreme.” – Sun Tzu
In our everyday lives, we have to make sure that our virtues don’t become vulnerabilities. We can’t allow the things we are good at to become flaws. Perhaps you are a very nice person – so nice that people start to walk all over you. This concept applies to your business just as much as it applies to your personal life. When taken to an extreme, just about anything can become a weakness.

The hardest thing to do is to evaluate yourself and your business. It’s easy to look at the world around you and find the things that are wrong, but it’s extremely difficult to find the problems within. Let’s say as a business owner you pride yourself on the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once. You may think that having this ability is a virtue. However, when you take it to an extreme and try to juggle too much at once, it can easily become a vulnerability.
Perhaps one of the virtues of your business is that you have someone on staff that has a graphic design background. So by taking this to an extreme, you have this particular employee handle the design of your business cards and advertisements. Just because that employee knows something about graphic design does not mean they have experience in marketing and advertising. The same goes for having your secretary manage your social media marketing efforts just because she knows how to use Facebook. This could end up being a very costly mistake.
