• Duct tape used for repairs: What Northampton County restaurant inspectors found (lehighvalleylive.com) — Northampton County health inspectors recently checked a long list of restaurants and food businesses in nearby townships, including spots in Palmer, Bethlehem Township, Williams Township, Forks and along Easton Road. All facilities were found in overall compliance, though some received notes on issues like duct-tape repairs, cleaning frequency, missing thermometers and sanitizer test strips that owners will need to address.
• 'Because you belong. We all belong': Hearing highlights priorities of Pennsylvania's Latino residents (wfmz.com) — A statewide legislative hearing on Latino issues brought lawmakers and advocates to Easton City Hall during the Pennsylvania Latino Convention, spotlighting priorities from education and health access to housing and gun violence. Speakers stressed that policies affecting more than a million Latino residents are stalled in Harrisburg, and urged Easton-area residents to stay civically engaged because, as one lawmaker said, elections have consequences.
• Lafayette football prepares for tilt with Holy Cross (wfmz.com) — Lafayette's football team returns to Fisher Stadium in Easton this Saturday looking to rebound from an overtime loss at Columbia and finally "click on all cylinders." Coaches and players say cutting down penalties and mistakes will be key as they host struggling Holy Cross, whose offense just showed signs of life in a loss to Yale.
