Officials say updated equipment will improve evidence collection, transparency, and daily performance while helping protect the city from unnecessary legal challenges.
• Customers across region lose power as nor'easter moves through (wfmz.com) — A nor'easter knocked out power for more than 1,300 Northampton County customers, with most outages concentrated in Easton's West Ward near Washington and Walnut streets. Met-Ed crews expected to restore electricity by late Sunday afternoon, while smaller outages affected parts of Lehigh County and neighboring New Jersey communities.
• Colonial League football: Fresh faces gives Southern Lehigh football strong running game among five things we learned in Colonial League (mcall.com) — Wilson's football team will face Pen Argyl this Friday at Easton's Cottingham Stadium in what coaches call a pivotal game after three straight losses. Alumni from Wilson's 2006 state championship squad postponed their 20th-anniversary on-field celebration because many preferred to wait until Smith Field renovations are finished, while Colonial League standings and Week 6 matchups show several local teams still undefeated.
