Lafayette College bicentennial brought to life in collaborative mural (lafayettestudentnews.com) — Lafayette College has installed a new collaborative mural near the Marlo Room in Farinon, giving Easton students and alumni a colorful, permanent way to mark the school's bicentennial. Designed by alum Isabel Sorrells and painted by over 100 student volunteers, the movable four-panel piece playfully reimagines campus landmarks and aims to help future students feel they've left a lasting mark.
2. Wawa bid over $500,000 for two Pennsylvania liquor licenses (abc27.com) — Easton could soon see a Wawa selling beer or wine, after the chain bid $350,000 for a restaurant liquor license designated for the city in a statewide auction. The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board listed this as one of the highest bids, part of a broader sale of 20 licenses across multiple counties.
3. Monarchs and blue jays counted in large numbers migrating south (lehighvalleylive.com) — Just south of Easton, a local naturalist describes fall color slowly arriving while tracking late-migrating hummingbirds, monarch butterflies, and flocks of blue jays heading south. They also share observations on pesky gnats and blooming evening lychnis, offering a close-to-home snapshot of early October nature in Northampton County.
4.
