5 Children's Events in October at the Library

Try tap dancing, make a craft, hear about new books . . .

October brings several special events for children at the Main Library and the Palmer and South Side Branches.

Thursday, October 6 – House Party (Main Library) – 4:00 -5:00 pm

Have fun learning basic tap dance steps from Miss Pat (Miss Pat’s Stage Door Studio) For ages 10 and up. Registration required.

Saturday, October 8 – Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration (South Side Branch) – 11:30 am

Experience Hispanic/Latino culture with stories, games, and crafts to make. Feel free to bring a heritage-related item to share. For children of all ages. Registration required.

Saturday, October 8 – Juvenile Diabetes Awareness (Palmer Branch) – 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Join Julia Wilkins, Miss Light of the Firefly’s Outstanding Teen, as she presents information about diabetes and young people, along with healthy snacks and prizes. Emily Doyle, Miss Greater Delaware Valley’s Outstanding Teen, will offer a storytime on this subject at 11:00 am for all children. Call Palmer for more information.

Saturday, October 15 – Meet the Author (Palmer Branch) – 2:00 pm

Children’s author Scott Morro discusses his book The Cross Over, a juvenile historical fiction novel set in Nazareth, PA, when four cousins are transported back in time. Books can be purchased prior to the program at the Palmer Library, and Mr. Morro will have books available for purchase and signing at the program. For ages 6 and up – adults welcome, too!

Wednesday, October 19 – Cocoa Club (Main Library) – 4:00 – 5:00 pm

Bring a favorite book to talk about, hear about some great books from Miss Katie, and enjoy a cup of apple cider or juice during the fall months. For grades 3 and up. Registration required.
