A Blog Series on Northampton County History

The start of local history posts on Patch begins here. I'd like your opinion.

I'm finally back writing for Patch after a three month hiatus. Fans of my old posts -- all dozen or so of you -- rejoice. I'm regular from now on for the forseeable future.

Back down to Earth, it's high time I related some local history.

Until a couple years ago even I didn't care much for local history (and I was a history major, keep in mind). After all, there wasn't any local history filled with the kind of drama world history offers. Topics like political intrigue, double-crosses, wars, peace treaties - these are things not experienced much in Northampton County, right? And inventions, industry, famous figures that shaped the world - these are things not found in abundance in the area, correct?

I should mention here, as a spoiler, that all those things are in the history of our area. And, yes, in abundance. Northamtpon County shaped the course of the history of the world. And that's not hyperbole.

But before I begin posting, I want to hear from readers. Because this is for your benefit - I already know everything about this, naturally <flips hair> - I'd like to know what format you'd like to see these posts in. Short blogs, long blogs? Topic-oriented or character-oriented? Should they follow a timeline, starting at the earliest point and proceeding in order to the present day, or just skip all over time? Should they extend from timely news stories?

In any case, a blog on the Walking Purchase is coming Wednesday. It's not the proudest moment in local history, but you ought to know about it.
