A House Is Not A Home
A blog dedicated to Easton's "hidden gems" of architecture, homes, buildings and landmarks - past and present

Perhaps not, but a house can be many things. It can be architecturally ostentatious. It can be simple and unassuming. It can be scary or welcoming or forlorn or sunny. And sometimes, to paraphrase Groucho Marx, a house is just a house.
Easton’s houses and buildings run the gamut, and in this blog I’ll look forward to introducing you to some of these places. Some you may be very well aware of, such as the 3rd Street Alliance, housed in the former Simon mansion. There’s the beautiful brownstone-style building in the 200 block of Spring Garden Street, currently owned and for sale by the Nurture Nature Foundation. And just a few steps down is the beautifully restored building that is the home to the hair salon and day spa Sanctuary by Michael Perry.
Others may be hiding in plain sight – just waiting to be re-discovered. I have a passion for old homes with stories to tell and architectural details that are all too often a thing of the past – if you do too, I hope you’ll enjoy exploring them with me through the entries of this blog.
