Children's Home Of Easton: Making A Difference
Learn more about the work the Children's Home Of Easton is doing in the community

The Children’s Home of Easton has been in existence since 1885, and is a place that provides a safe, nurturing environment for those who are in crisis. We are the place for those children that cannot remain in their natural home due to traumatic events of neglect, abandonment, abuse or truancy, in essence, they are in crisis. We work diligently with the child, family and county caseworker to make sure the child is safe and then work collaboratively to address all the issues that caused them to be placed and work towards reunification and achieve the set goals. We offer a wide range of services to accommodate as many children and their needs as possible. This continuum of care includes: emergency shelter, residential housing on campus, and group and foster homes and foster-to-adopt homes within the Lehigh Valley area. We provide additional services beyond the housing component such as individual and group casework counseling sessions, we provide and make sure each child is attending and completing their proper academic setting and program, and we provide social and recreational activities so to maintain a healthy lifestyle and balance. We will connect the child and family to local resources that will help strengthen them individually and as a family unit as well.
Statistics reveal the following:
- Every 2 minutes a child enters foster care and remains on average for 2 years.
- A child is abused or neglected every 47 seconds.
- For 2010 Pennsylvania had over 2500 children waiting to be adopted and 2374 children were adopted.
- 53% of those children adopted in 2010 were adopted by their foster parents.
You can become a part of the Children’s Home and make a “difference” in the life of a child by becoming a foster parent or foster-to-adopt parent. Foster homes provide permanency through either adoption and/or long-term placement establishing a life-long commitment to our children.
