'Creative Correspondence' Comes to Easton Library
Mail art just might renew the art of letter-writing.
When did you last write a letter? Or receive one? Imagine how special you would feel to find a homemade postcard or decorated envelope in your mailbox.
The term for this “creative correspondence” is mail art, and you can learn about it at a special paper arts program on Tuesday, April 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Easton Area Public Library.
Mixed media artist Maryann Riker will present the ins-and-outs of creating visually enticing mail art and unique folds that you can use to surprise special recipients or as add-ins for creative journals or altered and handmade books. From the classic Mennonite fold to unique origami structures, workshop participants will investigate and create unique items that can be mailed and enclosed.
