Dear Easton,
In which our author whines on and on about how fun-filled and bursting with mirth his life in Easton is.

I must apologize, Easton. I lobbed some harsh criticism your way today. In a conversation with a co-worker I decried the fact that there are just too damned many things to do in this town this weekend. I know. It stings a little. But, it’s okay. I still love you.
I beg you, please try to see things from my perspective. I work all week which leaves me little time in the evenings. I wrangle 4 dogs, 4 ducks, and a wife. Somebody has to beat back the viney, spiney jungle that I call my yard. I have a budding music career (quit snickering, it’s been budding for 20 years but good things are on the horizon, I promise). And, I write for a bunch of media outlets. How on earth am I supposed to juggle all that on my weekends AND go to all the cool events that are happening downtown?
To be fair, I could choose to perform my chores on weekends where there is nothing to do downtown. Though, they are few. Considering that an evening at or are events in themselves when the right people come along. But, you are the place where all these things happen. Don’t you think you could spread some stuff out? I mean really, the Zucchini 500 is happening at the same time as the . Do you not understand physics? I am but one man, Easton! One fun-loving, but easily tired man. I can only be in one locale at a time. Unless you plan on simulcasting all these events, I am going to have to choose one. And that means I will miss out on some fun. That pains me more than you can imagine.

I was lucky enough to be at the Easton Farmer’s Market last Saturday when Ron Morris’ erupted into dance and song around the fountain. But, bearing witness to that phenomenon left me with little precious time to visit Artists in the Alley. A cruel, cruel thing, Easton. Forcing me to choose like that.
So, this weekend, I have to shop at the Market, race some squash, check out the Lehigh Valley Zoo’s Smart Car “Waddles”, pop in to hear some tunes in Scott Park. This does not take into account that the Williams Township Carnival closes out Saturday. You really need to do something. I can’t go on like this.
