Flow Circus Opens Summer Reading Program

Join us at the Library for our special summer kick off event with this hilariously entertaining juggling performance.

The Flow Circus – performance artists who combine comedy, music, magic, and the juggling arts – will open the Summer Reading Program with three shows on Thursday, June 13 - 1:30 pm at the South Side Branch, 3:30 pm at the Palmer Branch, and 6:30 pm at the Main Branch -and a Teen Workshop titled “Skill Toys from Around the World” at 7:30 pm at the Main Library.

In the children’s program titled “Can You Dig It?” performer Paul Miller takes us back to one memorable summer when his eccentric uncle comes to visit.

Unlike any other adult Paul knows, his uncle opens up an exciting, new world of play through stories, books, juggling, magic, and more. More importantly, he encourages Paul not just to copy what others are doing, but to “dig deeper” and explore his own unique interests and talents.

Registration is not required for any of these hilariously entertaining performances, but children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Teen Workshop for ages 12 and up is an introduction to kendama, flower sticks, diabolo, and other skill toys that have histories dating back thousands of years. The workshop is fast-paced as participants move through stations and try their hands at each. Registration is encouraged but not required.
