Pickled and plastered pachyderms are nothing new; 1941's "Dumbo" celebrated them (or at least visions of them *caused* by being pickled and plastered!)
But - what about giddy giraffes? These, and a few other anthropomorphic alcoholics lead the way down the basement steps of a famous mansion in town - one with a reputation for, shall we say - a past association with demon rum.
But these are decidedly Eisenhower-era inebriates - no roaring 20s vibe to any of them. So how did they get there? And what was going on down there in the era of Edsels and Eddie Haskell?
I'm investigating, and hope to have an answer for you very soon - assuming I don't (hic) get sidetracked during my research! If you have any clues, please drop me a note at pamelabporter@yahoo.com
