Join us to hear how the image of Rosie the Riveter still symbolizes women’s strength, determination, and ability to adapt to any job or situation.
During World War II war, our nation turned all its manufacturing resources into wartime production. We needed many more workers, but most men of military age went into the armed services. The image of Rosie the Riveter was created to attract a relatively untapped labor source—women. They responded patriotically, going to work in factories where they soon proved that they could do the jobs as well or better than men.
Held at the Highlands of Glenmoor clubhouse, 1 Highlands Court, Easton (off Corriere Road). $5 per person.
