City Must Pay Former Cop's Pension
State Supreme Court sides with Matthew Renninger, who left the force following accidental deadly shooting.

Easton must pay former police officer Matthew Renninger a disability pension, the State Supreme Court ruled Tuesday.
The Express-Times reports that the court upheld previous rulings by Northampton County and Commonwealth Court judges. Easton's attorney told the newspaper the case is effectively over, because there are no federal grounds for appeal.
In 2005, Renninger accidentally shot and killed fellow officer Jesse Sollman inside the city police station. A grand jury found that Rennigner's actions were negligent, but did not file criminal charges. Renninger later retired from the force, claiming that he was psychologically unable to work as an officer.
