DA Can Seek Death in Easton Murder
Court denies John McGlinchey's motion to stop prosecutors from pursuing death sentence.

Prosecutors can seek the death penalty against a man accused of a fatal Christmas Eve shooting, a Northampton County judge ruled Thursday.
John McGlinchey III in the shooting death of Kimiko Moon, 43, of Easton. Police say he shot Moon at her home in the Highlands housing development on Christmas Eve 2010; she died of her wounds in early January.
According to news reports, McGlinchey had tried to keep Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli from seeking the death penalty. Thursday's ruling denied that request.

In addition to the homicide charge, Moon is accused of shooting and wounding Moon's 17-year-old nephew. He also faces a charge of trying to in May. A preliminary hearing on that charge is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
