Death of Man on South Sixth Street Deemed Suspicious
An autopsy of the man, whose body was discovered on the first floor of his residence Saturday morning, is scheduled for Sunday.
Easton Police are investigating after a man was found dead Saturday morning in the first block of South Sixth Street near Pine Street, under what authorities are calling "suspicious" circumstances.
“All I can tell you at this time is that we are investigating it as a suspicious death,” said County Coronor Zachary Lysek at the scene early Saturday afternoon.
The man, a resident of the building, was found on the first floor, according to Lysek, and police said they received a call about the death at approximately 8:52am. They refused to say who notified authorities of the death.

No other information about the victim was available pending notification of the next of kin. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, and more information will be released about the man's manner of death after it is complete, Lysek said.
Easton Police Lt. Scott Casterline said the cause and time of death of the victim are not yet known, and that police are not considering the death a homicide at this point.

“(The cause of death is) undetermined at this point, and we have to treat it this way until we know,” Casterline said. It is the coroner who makes the official determination of whether the investigation is that of a homicide or not, he said.
Police and investigators were seen combing the building where the man's body was found and the parking lot behind the residence for evidence, and at one point were seen removing furniture drawers as evidence and surveying the area with a telescope. Officials were on the scene for about seven hours.
Casterline said police are seeking information from anyone who may know more about the victim's death.
“We're looking to speak to anybody,” he said.
Anyone with information about this suspicious death should contact Detective Chris Miller at the Easton Police Department at 610-250-6656.
