EAHS to Hold Penn State Style "Thon"

If you know someone who goes to Penn State, you've probably heard about "Thon," the university's annual two-day dance marathon that's the largest student-run philanthropy in the world.

Last year, it raised more than $10 million for the Four Diamonds Fund, which helps pediatric cancer patients and their families.

At Easton Area High School, the National Honor Society is planning something similar, although on a smaller scale.

Next weekend at the high school, the group will hold a 12-hour "mini-thon," starting at Friday at 8 p.m. and running until Saturday at 8 a.m.

"At our Mini-THON, there will be music, dancing, games, dodgeball, basketball, food, drinks, snacks, DJs, raffle prizes, and more all night long," the NHS writes on the Four Diamonds Fund website. "For 12 straight hours, we will keep moving and stay active in order to raise our goal of $5,000 to be donated to the Fund."

Students who are interested in registering need to raise at least $35 in sponsorships and pay a $10 registration fee. For more information, visit the Four Diamonds Fund website.
