Easton Fires New Police Officer
'Off-duty misconduct' costs newly hired cop his job, Easton police chief tells newspaper.

The Easton police department has fired one of its probationary officers for "off-duty misconduct," the city's police chief told the Express-Times Tuesday.
“He had some off-duty misconduct,” Chief Carl Scalzo said. “An investigation was conducted, and based on the misconduct, he was released from employment with the city.”
The chief did not identify the officer, or the nature of the offense.

The city swore in four new officers in July as the police department began working to get itself fully staffed. Of the four, only one was ready for active duty at the time.
