Easton Joins List of "Tree Cities"

Arbor Day Foundation praises Easton's commitment to caring for trees.

For the 13th time, the National Arbor Day Foundation has honored the city of Easton for its committment to planting and caring for trees.

The foundation said the city won this desingation for having a department or board that cares for trees, a community forestry program that spend at least $2 per capita, a tree care ordinance, and a yearly Arbor Day observance or proclamation.

John Rosenow, CEO of the foundation, applauded  "for providing vital care for its urban forest."

The Arbor Day Foundation is based in Nebraska, and is dedicated to getting people to plant and preserve trees.
