Easton Police arrested a man on Tuesday and are charging him with the robbery of the National Penn Bank in downtown Easton, according to police.
Malcolm Diggs, 49, was arrested and taken into custody Tuesday morning after two detectives spoke with him in a hotel room he was living in at the Hotel Hampton at 462 Northampton St., according to The Express-Times. Diggs told Easton Police that he robbed the downtown bank to get money for crack cocaine, the newspaper reports. He was arraigned late Tuesday morning.
No one was injured during the Nov. 14 robbery and despite saying he had a weapon, Diggs never brandished one during the heist, according to The Express-Times.
