Easton Police: Man Grabbed Shotgun from Crusier

A Bangor man was Tasered by Easton police Tuesday night after allegedly getting into a city police car and grabbing a shotgun.

The Express-Times reports that Leslie Smith, 23, tried to get into a police cruiser that was parked in the city garage.

Police say Smith managed to get a shotgun out of its rack inside the car, and pointed it at Officer Joshua Marvin. Marvin fought with Smith, and four other officers came to Marvin's aid. Police used a Taser to subdue Smith, who was jailed on numerous charges.

Lt. Scott Casterline told the newspaper Smith appeared to be on drugs. Police are investigating how he got into the car. Typically, police cars are supposed remain locked inside the garage.
