Easton Redevelopment Sells Ferry Street House

Standing outside 627 Ferry St. Thursday, contractor Dominic Rosso couldn't help but be proud of his work.

"It's a thousand times better," he said, referring to the work that's been done on the properties, the latest in the series of renovation projects.

On Wednesday night, the authority voted to finalize the sale of the home to its new owners -- Phillipsburg residents Hollie Cummings and Barry Fehr, Jr. -- for $100,000.

Work isn't finished yet, but the authority's Tina Woolverton told members the couple wants to come in and have some say on the finishing touches.

"They've been stopping by the home daily to see how it's going," she said. "They're really enthusiastic about it."

The authority used proceeds from the sale of a , also on Ferry Street, to pay for the work on this home. 

This is the latest in a series of similar homes renovated by the authority. Typically, they've involved blighted properties. Rosso said his Three B Construction Services has worked on some of them, including one on 13th Street that was virtually a shell for feral animals.

"That one made this one look like the Taj Mahal," he said.
