Easton School Board Chooses New Member

Baron Vanderburg, a graduate of East Stroudsburg University, becomes the newest EASB member.

The newest member of the Easton Area School Board just graduated from college.

The Express-Times reports that Baron Vanderburg, 21, was appointed Monday night to fill a vacancy on the board left by the resignation of Bob Arnts.

Arnts, who had been elected last year, due to health reasons.

Vanderburg, who graduated from Easton Area High School in 2008 and East Stroudsburg University last month, was one of six candidates for the seat.

Two of those hopefuls were former board members , but board member Frank Pintabone said appointing them would be unfair to voters, whom he argued had chosen to go with new blood in the last election.
