Easton Students Win Engineering Olympics

Team from Easton Area High School places first at Wilkes engineering contest.

Ten students from came in first place -- and netted themselves a $40,000 scholarship -- in Wilkes University's Engineering Olympics late last month.

The team competed March 30 against eight other schools at the Wilkes-Barre university, in events that included designing a working windmill, making an electromagnetic crane, a boat to move cargo, and a winch system to move the boat.

The team, led by teacher Justin Kast, is made up of studentsΒ Amanda Bellafotto,Β Katie Buza, Millexis Claudio, Sergio Davila-Martinez,Β Kyler Kilpatrick,Β Vinh Le,Β Julian Marinelli, Yuvraj Rathore,Β Alejandro Vega andΒ Dakota Williams.
