Easton to Celebrate National Night Out

There are at least eight block parties set to take place across the city to mark National Night Out this Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Set for this Tuesday, Aug. 2, between 6 and 9 p.m., some 37 million Americans will take part in the 28th Annual National Night Out, and once again, Easton will join them, .

National Night Out is specifically designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back, according to their website.

To that end, members of the Easton Police Department and city officials plan to visit as many of the eight known community block parties scheduled for the evening as they can, said Chief Larry Palmer.
