End-of-Life Care Has Its Pioneers

In a day and age where HEALTHCARE DISRUPTION AND CHANGE is everywhere you look, it is VITAL to plug back into our ROOTS and SOURCES.

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross is one of the pioneers in the death and dying community which slowly morphed into the end-of-life and hospice community over the years. The passion that Elisabeth had for helping people die in a conscious and well prepared state was very palpable. She wanted to help people find out what they were being taught through the process, what they felt, and how that impacted their life. The lessons she gave us from the dying are IMMENSE.

Here are two short pieces I wrote on my friendship with Elisabeth. I only wish she were alive now to make enough noise to rally end-of-life workers around the cause and fight the disruption of the digital age. Every movement grows through its responses to the change and disruption it faces - it is vital that the end-of-life community pushes back against TOO MUCH CHANGE and provides conflict for the regulatory process so PEOPLE and their one unique LIFE AND DEATH is not lost in the shuffle.
