Chair Yoga is great for people who are not flexible enough or strong enough to try more challenging yoga classes. This includes men and women of any age or size. It can be used as a springboard to more strenuous practice or as a primary practice to increase health, flexibiity and vitality.
This class focuses on relaxation and stretching and endurance training and includes seated and standing poses, with the use of the chair and a yoga strap for assistance and to stay off the floor.
For relaxation at the end, you can lie on the floor - bring your own mat or a blanket to do so.

Maggie Spilner, former Prevention Magazine health columnist, author and certified yoga teacher is the instructor. She has taught hatha yoga, yoga for golfers and college yoga at Northampton Community College as well as at some local studios. She has studied with a variety of teachers over the years, including attending seminars at Kripalu and the Himalayan Institute. Maggie teachers chair yoga classes on her walking vacations because there is much less chance of injury to those who are not regular practitioners. Maggie has lived in Williams Township, across from the Municipal Building, for 20 years.
Anyone is welcome to attend, but please contact Maggie at least the night before, if you plan to attend by calling 610 253 9255 or emailing walkforallseasons@gmail.com. so she can be sure there is room and so you can be sure the class has not been cancelled.
