National Canal Museum Spring Lecture Series

Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 7:30 PM Spring Lecture Series National Canal Museum Spring Lecture Series The National Canal Museum concludes its Spring Lecture Series in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Canal Society on Thursday, May 19. National Canal Museum Historian Emeritus Lance Metz will present an illustrated lecture on the Delaware and Hudson Canal, its famous suspension aqueducts and its gravity railroad. Between 1828 and 1894 the Delaware and Hudson and its feeder gravity railroads annually carried millions of tons of anthracite coal from Carbondale, PA to Kingston, NY.  Admission to this event is $5.  All proceeds go to the National Canal Museum history fund. Doors open at 7 PM, the lecture begins at 7:30 PM and is approximately three hours in length.  The lecture is open to the public.  The Spring Lecture Series is held at the Two Rivers Landing auditorium, National Canal Museum, 30 Centre Square, Easton, PA.  Enter the building at the Pine Street (rear) entrance.  Parking can be found on the street or in the parking garage (for a fee) adjacent to Two Rivers Landing.  Seating is limited to 125 persons on a first-come first-served basis. For more information, call the National Canal Museum at 610-559-6613.
