
After several weeks of a downward trend, the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Pennsylvania is $3.53, up 4.2 cents from a week ago.
This rise, however, is less than half of the nearly 14-cent increase during the same period last year, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. Prices have risen largely because of higher crude oil prices.
Locally, gas prices rose from $3.47 to $3.53 in the last week, which is 6 cents higher than last month and 3 cents more than a year ago.

The national average price of a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.36, up 5.4 cents, while the average locally is $3.49.
