Jesus Christ Superstar Actor Coming to Easton

Ted Neely, who played Jesus on film and Broadway, will play State Theatre in October.

Ted Neeley, who played the title role in both the film and stage version of Jesus Christ Superstar, is coming to Easton.

Neeley will bring his Little Big Band to the October 26, the theater said Thursday.

"The new show also features stories and musical material from his career as a rock opera pioneer, including selections from Tommy, Hair, Sgt. Pepper’s, and of course, Jesus Christ Superstar," promoter Vestry Presents said in a news release.

Neeley's Easton stop will include a guest appearance by Christine Rea, who played Mary to his Jesus for years on the Jesus Christ Superstar national tour.

Tickets, which are already on sale, range from $35 to $55, along with a $15 ticket available for kids 12 and under. To get tickets you can visit the theater website at www.statetheatre.org, call 610-253-3132, or stop by the box office at 543 Northampton St. in Easton.
