Men Charged With Copper Theft

City police say pair took wiring from home.

Two Northampton County men are accused of trying to steal 15 feet of copper spouting from an Easton home, according to court papers.

Ian McMaster, 23, of 440 Morgan Hill Road, Easton, and Floyd Burd Jr., 31, of 328 E. Third St., Wind Gap, have each been charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy in the copper theft at 132 Reeder St., according to arrest affidavits filed by city police.

Curtis Jenker, who lives at the home, told police he heard a loud bang outside at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. When he looked out the window, he saw a man shoving copper spouting into a car. Jenker was able to give police a description of the vehicle and a license plate number.
