More Than Just a Cleaning Service

When she talks about her business, Rebekah DeFreest describes it as more than just housekeeping.

For example, there was the client  a few weeks ago who wanted DeFreest and her two-person staff to come in come and set everything up before her Thanksgiving Dinner and return Black Friday and do all the cleanup.

"We walked in Thanksgiving Eve, cleaned her house," said DeFreest, of Easton, "set the table then got the turkey ready and put it in the oven."

She argues that what sets her business -- called Revitalize With Rebekah -- apart from many other cleaning services, she said, are the added things they do that other cleaning companies won't.

"You know how people always say they have to clean before the cleaning lady comes? Well with us you don't have to. We will pick up the toys and mess and then start the cleaning," she said.

DeFreest said the services her business offers packages, hourly rates, as well as project estimates for the different services clients request.

"We are 100 percent guaranteed and if you find you aren't happy with our service we will come back the next day. There are no contracts unless you want one," she said.

"We will come to your home on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or just occasionally. If all you need is a one-time cleaning, we can do that too," she said.

"We have clients that we just go in and empty their kitchen cabinets clean them and reorganize them to make it more efficient for the client to use."

According to DeFreest, before going into business, she did a great deal of research in order to make her company and earth friendly business. DeFreest considers her business part of the solution when it comes to protecting people and the environment from toxic chemical and noxious fumes.

"I am an eco-friendly person," she said. "The home I am building uses everything recycled. I am determined to leave not an ounce of footprint on the earth, although I am sure I will leave some."

DeFreest started Revitalize Your Home With Rebekah two years ago and has clients throughout the Lehigh Valley and Berks County, and recently hired two employees because of the increase in her business.

"I really want to expand all through the Lehigh Valley," she said.

Normal business is from Monday through Friday, but DeFreest said they do work on Saturdays if the job requires.
