New Jersey Police: Easton Man Assaulted Chief

Robert Pucci is accused of pushing, injuring chief of police in Belvidere.

An Easton man was jailed in New Jersey Sunday for allegedly assaulting the police chief in the town of Belvidere.

According to the Express-Times, Robert Pucci, 19, pushed Belvidere Chief Robert Yiesley, and then tried to hit Yiesley with his forearm.

The resulting struggle caused the chief to fall, injuring his hand and wrist. Pucci was charged with aggravated assault of a police officer, resisting arrest and simple assault. He was sent to Warren County jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
